Academy Registration

The Austrian Jazz Prize Academy comprises a network of professionals active in various areas of the jazz, improvisation, and world music scene in Austria. These include journalists, promoters, musicians, teachers, label owners, producers, bookers, and sound engineers. All experts are invited to participate in the nomination process and contribute their valuable expertise. All submitting artists and projects are automatically voting members of the Academy, provided they consent. From September 1st to 20th, 2026, Academy members will have the opportunity to select five acts from the submissions in each of the three categories: "Best Live Act," "Best Album," and "Best Newcomer." Voting for one's own project or for oneself is permitted. The previous year's winners can only submit their own project again in the following year. However, they are welcome to work as a sideman/woman/man on submitted projects. The ten projects with the most nominations in each category will be nominated for the Austrian Jazz Prize 2026 and announced on September 28, 2026.
