Joel won the Ö1 Jazz Scholarship in 2021 with her own project, "Autobiographie." (Jazz/World Music)
The repertoire, originally conceived for a trio with percussion and piano, consists exclusively of original compositions inspired by her own biography. The first performance in February 2024 with the new trio line-up (live concert and Ö1 recording at the Radiokulturhaus). Further performances followed in early 2025 (including at AKM/Voet Fest) with Madeleine Joel (sax, vocals), Clemens Gigacher (electric bass), and Matti Felber (drums). Together, they manage to touch and inspire audiences with extraordinary sounds and impulsive improvisation. A unique musical journey.
Joel is currently composing more songs, and an album production of "Autobiographie" is planned for 2026.
