Martin Melzer

Martin Melzer is an electric bassist, double bassist, educator, and cultural pioneer. After graduating from the VMI Vienna and the HDPK Berlin, he has been working full-time as a musician and educator since March 2023. In addition to his main project PRIM, he is involved in the vibrant musical and cultural scene in his hometown of Vienna and internationally. Active projects include Jörg Danielsen's Vienna Blues Association, the organization of the ATLAS Sessions Vienna (collective, cross-genre and cross-cultural free improvisation), participation in the Funky Beatz Sessions (groove-based free improvisation), and collaborations with the swing and blues dance scene (IG-Hop, Some Like It Hot, Thomas Marek, Blues in Vienna). His motto: Creating music that was, is, and will be.
