PEOPLE. PLACES. is a musical reflection on migration, belonging and the relationships that shape us. The eight tracks move between intimate and expansive settings, combining contemporary jazz, improvisation and carefully crafted large-ensemble arrangements with elements of Argentine and Latin American music. Each composition is connected to a person or place that has played a significant role in Martín Iaies’ journey from Buenos Aires to Austria. The music moves between written and improvised passages, allowing the individual voices of the ensemble to emerge within a carefully structured collective sound.
