Album: CALIGO

Caligo, JAVENTU's first LP, crystallizes the duo's continuous development since their EP 2024. Their acoustic sound as a duo - unmistakable and characteristic in its minimal poetry and playful rhythms - is expanded into a trio in Caligo through collaborations. Sun Gaze with Marcelo Politano on flute provides unheard soundscapes in a chamber music atmosphere. In songs such as 'Ferry', ‘Slumber’ and 'Leaning', Vitus Denifl and Jacob Gregersen tell instrumental narratives in a reduced form and in close connection between bass and saxophone. The rhythmic complexity of the compositions is multiplied with Thomas Mantl on drums and culminates in 'Friction'. Dance grooves and relaxed vibes à la Grapes round off the album. Field recordings, recorded on joint journeys, merge the diverse songs.
