Album: Mindscapes

slowklang – singer Amina Bouroyen and her two colleagues Robert Unterköfler (saxophone) and Robin Gadermaier (electric bass & foot organ) – realize their very own sound on Mindscapes, a sound whose starting point lies in jazz but which branches out in the most beautiful ways into other musical forms. Instead of placing musical virtuosity in the foreground, slowklang focus in their pieces on creating atmosphere in the tension between the composed and the improvised. The trio’s music unfolds moods and tells its stories in a highly varied manner – at times calm and fragile, then again emotionally intense, but also with plenty of groove and energy in just the right places.
