Newcomer Resume
Marion Wolf (born Marion J. Stimpfl) is a 25-year-old jazz violinist & singer from Wolfsberg, Carinthia. In 2019, after graduating from musicschool with honors in classical violin, she received a D’Addario String Foundation scholarship for a jazz string camp in Munich, where she met her mentor Max Grosch. With his guidance, she joined the state-funded talent program at the GMPU in Klagenfurt. Since then, she has fully dedicated herself to jazz; in 2024, she completed two bachelor’s degrees with honors, the third to follow in 2025. With her new quartet she recorded her debut album, “Am Ondan End”. The album features Carinthian dialect lyrics and highlights the violin as a solo instrument. It was recorded mostly in one-takes, with improvisation as a musical foundation.
