Newcomer Resume

Shira Karmon has sung on international opera stages, performed at festivals in Germany (including Schwetzingen, Berlin März Musik), Great Britain, Switzerland (Verbier), Vienna (Wien Modern). Within classical, jazz and world music, Karmon deals extensively with Jewish music and performs regularly with this repertoire. She works with Paul Gulda, Elias Meiri, Alex Vounelakos, Rainer Maria Nero and others. She studied at the Rubin Academy in Tel Aviv and at the Manhattan School of Music in NY and is a prizewinner of the "Lied of the 20th and 21st Centuries" competition in Germany and the Israel Music Institute. Her albums "Spirit of Hope", "Little Cakewalk", "Bei mir bistu sheyn" have been released by Gramola, where the future CD "SHIRA" will also be released.
