Luisa Muhr is an Austrian, New York–based vocalist and interdisciplinary artist focusing on experimental voice, improvisation, installation and sound art. She is a member of the improv band PlayField (577 Records, NY) and Dilate Ensemble. In 2024, TEUFLIN/SHE-DEVIL (Boomslang Records) and In Trialogue (live double LP, Porgy & Bess Vienna), were released, followed in 2025 by Under Over World (Boomslang Records). She has received commissions from the Austrian Cultural Forum New York, Roulette Intermedium, and has been an artist-in-residence at Pioneer Works, the Rockefeller Pocantico Center, and CounterPulse, to name a few. She has worked with and alongside Daniel Carter, Claire Chase, Shelley Hirsch, Meredith Monk, Arturo O’Farrill, William Parker, John Zorn, and the New York Philharmonic.
