Newcomer Resume

Lorenz Widauer, born in Salzburg, began his musical journey as a classical pianist, performing as a soloist in renowned venues such as the Großes Festspielhaus Salzburg and MuTh Vienna. He later studied classical and jazz trumpet, shaping a unique musical identity through this wide range of influences. By the age of 26, he had already toured across Europe with ensembles including Shake Stew, Orjazztra Vienna, Yvonne Moriel’s sweetlife:quartet and his own projects Chez Fría and Bangers & Ballads. In 2024, he was selected for the Focusyear Band 25, an elite one-year program led by Wolfgang Muthspiel. He received the Hubert von Goisern Culture Award and won the ARTEDEA competition and played with artists such as Miguel Zenon, Kris Davis, Immanuel Wilkins and Becca Stevens, among many others.
