Raphael Vorraber studied Jazz Drums at the Universities of Music in Graz and Vienna (Master’s degree, 2022). He plays with Yvonne Moriel:sweetlife, is a founding member of the soul band Sladek, and is part of the avant-garde hip-hop duo Borgoloco. In the past year, he collaborated with the singer SOIA, Andi Tausch Puls, the Graz Composer Orchestra, and in joint releases with Jojo Lackner and Johannes Enders, and performed at national and international jazz festivals. In 2022, he served as a Visiting Artist at the Institute for Popular Music at the MDW. His music blends jazz, Afrobeat, and contemporary improvisation into a multifaceted sound, characterized by experimental grooves, rhythmic depth, and sonic diversity.
