Newcomer: Lukas Meißl

Lukas Meißl (born 1995 in Graz) is a jazz pianist, composer, and arranger. He studied music education and jazz piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Olaf Polziehn, graduating with distinction in 2018 and 2023 (Master’s). Active as a performer since his youth, he has appeared at Styriarte, Jazzfestival Saalfelden, Porgy & Bess, and abroad (incl. 2nd Prize at the Jazz Contest Rome, finalist at the International Piano Competition Freiburg). Founder of the OSTstyrian Rhythm Section and keyboardist/pianist with Candlelight Ficus, Max Kreuzer Octet, and Moralité. He collaborates with orchestras, choirs, actors, and develops educational projects. Teaching at KUG since 2018, from 2025 Senior Artist at the at the Institute of Jazz. Also workshop lecturer and journalist.
