Newcomer: Julia Hofer

Julia Hofer | Electric Bass & Cello Julia Hofer (b. 1994, Klagenfurt) is a versatile bassist of the young generation (Austria/Germany). Following studies in Vienna, Cologne, and Mannheim, she shapes the contemporary music scene with electric bass, fretless bass, cello, and double bass. She performs with Vienna’s United Stages Orchestra and teaches at Klagenfurt’s Gustav Mahler Private University and Vienna’s Jam Music Lab. Her instructional videos for Thomann reach millions worldwide. Since 2025, she develops new sonic concepts in a duo with acclaimed Austrian pianist David Helbock. Their album for premier label ACT Music (September 2025 release, featuring Lorenz Raab, Veronika Harcsa) launches a 70+ concert tour – including festivals like Leverkusen Jazztage.
