Jordi Roviró is a trumpet player, composer, and bandleader based between Vienna and Basel. Following his Bachelor’s degree at MUK Vienna under Gerhard Ornig, he is currently pursuing his Master’s at Jazzcampus Basel with Ambrose Akinmusire and Guillermo Klein. As an expressive voice in contemporary large-ensemble jazz, he writes for groups such as the co-founded Vienna Composers Big Band, the Slovenian RTV Big Band, the Basel Jazz Orchestra, and the hr-Bigband. Alongside his composing, he is an in-demand sideman. His international performance activity has taken him across Europe, Asia, Madagascar, and the USA. In 2025, he was awarded the Joe Zawinul Prize by MUK.
