Project Description
Since their founding in 2018, the aptly named septet „Aufmessers Schneide“ has stayed deeply rooted in the jazz idiom - despite their frequent playful departures into other genres. Colourful horn parts are punctuated with powerful unisono passages, bringing groovy, impelling and even alpine hues into the picture. At the heart of the music lies the playful/cheeky humour with which every ensemble member tends to boldly break out into other sonic worlds. Whether as soloists or collectively, their spirit and seemingly never-ending creativity bring Gregor Aufmesser’s compositions to life in deliciously unexpected ways.
