With In Her Footsteps, the Martin Listabarth Trio presents its current programme and third
album, released in 2026 on the German label o-tone music. Inspired by the journeys of
Viennese world traveller Ida Pfeiffer, the album tells her extraordinary story through music,
combining modern jazz with influences from classical music and pop, with a strong focus
on melody, atmosphere and storytelling.
Viennese pianist Martin Listabarth, nominated for the Austrian Jazz Award 2025 in the Best
Newcomer category, has established himself as a distinctive voice in Austrian jazz through
his compositions and performances. Together with Gidi Kalchhauser (bass) and Sebastian
Simsa (drums), he develops a characteristic trio sound that combines lyrical and chamber-
music elements with powerful, rhythmically driven passages.
In Her Footsteps follows the albums Postcards (2023) and Live in Vienna (2025).
