Asja Valcic - Cello Solo

Asja Valcic moves freely between classical music and jazz. With virtuosity, dynamic expression, and a passion for improvisation, she has opened up a new dimension for the cello. After a successful classical career, she joined the ACT family in 2005 with the groundbreaking radio.string.quartet.vienna and has since released over ten albums on the label. In duo with Klaus Paier, with Iiro Rantala, Rolf and Joachim Kühn, as a member of Wolfgang Puschnig’s Fulsome X, and most recently in duo with Raphael Preuschl and the Quispel Quintet, she continues to show her versatility – as a soloist, chamber musician, and a creative voice of the modern cello.
