Project Description
In the trio AANÄ, Jul Dillier (piano, harmonium, dulcimer, vocals), together with András Dés (percussion) and Judith Ferstl (double bass), dedicates himself to the Swiss German poems of his uncle, Julian Dillier, who passed away in 2001.
The resulting intimate and deeply personal songs move within the realm of jazz, folk music, and poetry. The title AANÄ has three meanings in Dillier's dialect, thus outlining the album's thematic areas: "Aanä" refers to the ancestors. As a verb, it means to sense, to anticipate, to feel. Additionally, "aanä" also means to accept or to embrace.
