Album: Breathe - Music for Large Ensembles

The basic idea is to take an orchestral concept and place it in a contemporary jazz setting. The album features Lenz's compositions for three different lineups: a standard-sized jazz orchestra, a chamber ensemble consisting of a string quartet, three horns, double bass, and drums, and a full orchestra combining the jazz orchestra and strings. The album is a collaboration with Colombian visual artist Violeta Lenz, who created illustrations for each song, forming a connection between visual art and music. I put together a band of friends and heroes from my time living in New York, and we recorded at the Bunker Studio in NYC.
