Newcomer Resume

Helene Glüxam is a double bassist and composer from Vienna. In her solo project she explores the contrast between the bass’s deep resonance and her high singing voice, for which she was selected for the NASOM (The New Austrian Sound of Music) program 2025/26. She combines minimalist orchestration with unconventional playing techniques, creating a personal musical language between jazz, improvisation and melodic song forms. Performances have taken her to Porgy & Bess, the RadioKulturhaus and Musikverein Vienna, as well as to festivals in Germany, Slovakia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. She is also a member of Kurdophone (incl. Elbphilharmonie Hamburg), the Lizard Ensemble and the Wednesday Night Prayer Orchestra. Her debut solo album will be released in 2026.
