Harry Pepl (tape) & The (Lonely Single Swinger Band) brings the distinctive sound of guitarist and composer Harry Pepl, who died in 2005, into the present. The basis for this is original recordings from the last decade of his life, when he spent thousands of hours in Hernstein, Lower Austria, creating real-time compositions – improvised multi-track works in which he played all the instruments himself. Austrian jazz musicians Clemens Salesny and Martin Bayer have meticulously sifted through and selected the archive material. Together with Andi Schreiber (violin) and Valentin Duit (drums), they bring the original tracks to the stage in multiple channels.
